Rep. Charlie Meier Receives 2023 Public Service Award

State Representative Charlie Meier received the 2023 Public Service Award for his demonstration of ongoing support for creating jobs and affordable energy.

“I am honored to receive the Public Service Award as it represents the ongoing support to advocate for creating jobs and providing the communities with affordable energy,” said Rep. Meier. “Our local public utilities help provide the services we need at the lowest cost possible.”

Rep. Meier has been an ongoing supporter for the Prairie State Energy Campus and the creation of jobs it brings to the communities of Breese and Highland. He believes in conservation and proper use of resources that generate job opportunities, economic stability, and a quality environment for the area. He serves as an Assistant Republican Leader in the Illinois House and is a member of the Energy and Environment Committee.

The Illinois Municipal Utilities Association (IMUA) selected State Representative Charlie Meier to receive its 2023 Public Service Award. This award recognizes officials who have demonstrated ongoing support for public power and municipal utilities. The award is given annually to lawmakers who support job growth and affordable energy and through their work on key committees.

State Representative Charlie Meier represents the 109th District which includes portions of Bond, Clinton, Madison, St. Clair, and Washington counties.
