State Representative Charlie Meier (R-Okawville) began his new term following the Inauguration Day ceremony of the Illinois House of Representatives held Wednesday, January 13th at the BOS Center in Springfield.

“It is a privilege to be sent back to Springfield by the people of southern Illinois for another term in the House of Representatives,” said Rep. Meier. “2020 was one of the most difficult years we have endured for our state, country, and world. I’m optimistic 2021 will be a better year for us all. I’m ready to tackle the challenges before us with the goal of continuing to make Illinois a better place for our next generation and a better place to live and work today.”

The 108th District represented by State Rep. Charlie Meier includes parts of Clinton, Madison, St. Clair, and Washington counties.

Rep. Meier added, “I want to thank the people of the 108th district for allowing me to represent you at the state capitol. I also want to thank my family and friends for their support. I will always do what I think is in the best interest of the people I represent. I will keep the pressure on the governor to fix the unemployment delays, protect the 2nd Amendment, and fight for our most vulnerable. My office is always here to serve you.”
