Nashville’s Tire Recycling Event Fills Semi-Truck

NASHVILLE, IL – State Representative Charlie Meier (R-Okawville) recently hosted a free tire recycling event in Nashville, giving local residents an opportunity to responsibly dispose of unwanted tires. The event brought in hundreds of residents and filled an entire semi-truck with tires collected for recycling.

Meier said the response from the community demonstrates the value of offering convenient opportunities for residents to properly dispose of old tires.

“It was great to see so many people come out and take advantage of this event,” said Rep. Meier. “When old tires are left in yards, ditches or other areas, they can become an eyesore and create problems for our communities. Providing a free and convenient way to recycle them is a simple way we can make a positive difference.”

The event marked the second consecutive year Meier has brought a free tire recycling opportunity to Nashville. He credited the City of Nashville, and Nashville FFA for helping organize and operate the event.

“I want to thank everyone who helped make this possible, especially the City of Nashville and the Nashville FFA,” said Rep. Meier. “Their help allowed us to serve hundreds of residents and keep a large number of tires out of places where they do not belong.”

Meier said he intends to continue working with communities across the district to provide similar recycling events and other opportunities that benefit local residents.
