GREENVILLE, IL – State Representative Charlie Meier (R-Okawville) hosted a free tire recycling event in Greenville. The event drew hundreds of residents, and a semi-truck was filled with everything from combine tires to small passenger tires.
The event took place at Bond County Fairgrounds, and the community lined up to get rid of their old tires.
“This was the third tire recycling event I’ve hosted around the district, and the community is loving them,” said Rep. Charlie Meier. “Seeing so many neighbors showing up to get rid of tires shows that there’s a great appetite for events like this. I want to thank everyone who came out for their patience as our volunteers worked through the long line.”
Rep. Charlie Meier notes that the event would’ve been impossible without dedicated volunteers.
“I want to recognize all the volunteers who came out to help load the tires,” Meier continued. “Thank you to the City of Greenville and volunteers from the Greenville FFA who helped make this event possible.”
Meier says he plans to bring these events to locations around the district and hold them annually.
