State Representative Charlie Meier emceed the Nashville Chamber of Commerce ‘Citizens of the Year’ banquet which is held annually to honor local citizens who go above and beyond to help the community. This year, siblings Melanie and Mike Caplinger were chosen as the Citizens of the Year by the Chamber for their work supporting the community through their business, the Nashville Dairy Queen.
“I brought Melanie and Mike a pie from the farm and figured it was fitting given all the times they’ve satisfied my sweet tooth,” joked Meier. “Their family operates the Dairy Queen in Nashville and have been outstanding members of our community for multiple generations. Their parents opened the DQ in the ‘70’s and the sibling duo took over in 2006. Congratulations to Melanie and Mike Caplinger!”
