Meier’s Statement on Democrats’ Plan to Change the Rules to Elect More Judges

State Representative Charlie Meier (R-Okawville) issued the following statement concerning his opposition to Illinois legislative Democrats’ plan to create more judgeships for Democrats:

“When is enough is enough? The Democrats split the judicial circuit in St. Clair County last year, passed new laws to put violent criminals back on the street and weakened law enforcement’s ability to apprehend criminals. Now they are trying to change the rules to give themselves a competitive advantage to elect more Democrat judges. This plan is about packing the courts with more liberal judges and reducing fairness in our court system.”
