State Representative Charlie Meier (R-Okawville) issued the following statement after former House Speaker Mike Madigan (D-Chicago) announced his resignation:
“This is good news for the people of Illinois. Although Madigan may be retiring from the House. He still has a grip on the Democrat majority in the state. It’s time for the state to look ahead, I hope Madigan stays in the rearview mirror.”
