State Representative Charlie Meier (R-Okawville) and the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) announced 63 local road and bridge improvements scheduled for completion over the next six years in the 108th legislative district. According to Rep. Meier, “Nine projects in the district should be out for bid by June 30, 2020.”
IDOT’s Multi-Year Program for Rep. Meier’s district includes 103 miles of road and infrastructure projects totaling $221 million.
“I look forward to the completion of these much needed road and bridge projects,” said Rep. Meier. “Making these critical infrastructure improvements will help grow and keeps jobs in our region, as well as improve the safety of our roadways.”
Projects scheduled for IDOT’s Fiscal Year 2020 letting in Rep. Meier’s district include improvements to I-64; I-70; US 50; IL 160; IL 161; and improvements to the new US 50 from Trenton to Breese. The much anticipated Lebanon Bypass is included for Fiscal Year 2021 – Fiscal Year 2025 and the expansion of US 40 in Troy to four lanes East of Formosa Rd to Bethany Drive, among many more important projects in the region.
Rep. Meier added, “With all the construction scheduled, I encourage motorists to please use caution and slow down when driving through work zones.
